Meet The Founder

I’m Sarah Hall, the founder of Waves of Freedom. A Southern California native who’s always felt a deep connection to the ocean — a place of peace, renewal, and freedom. It’s from that connection, and a calling I couldn’t ignore, that this mission was born.

In the Fall of 2024, while watching TV, a commercial came on highlighting the challenges people with disabilities face in accessing recreational experiences. I turned to my boyfriend and explained how great it would be to run a business that would help people with disabilities experience the beach—we’d been just the day before. We would always throw business ideas against the wall, but he urged me to write this one down. I kept that piece of paper in my purse for months.

While at work, I had a phone call in January of 2025 with a father who told me about his child with disabilities and a recent trip to Hawaii. There, he had visited a homestead farm that taught life skills to people with disabilities. We discussed how wonderful such a setup was, how valuable to the community it is, he paused and said,
“Working with these people, helping these people — it’s doing God’s work”.

His words sent a shiver down my spine and from that moment on, I knew what I was meant to do and Waves of Freedom was born — a company dedicated to giving people with disabilities and their caregivers the chance to experience a day of respite, joy, and connection with the ocean and other natural spaces.

Everyone deserves access to moments of peace and connection — whether found along the shoreline, in the stillness of nature, or in connection with animals. These experiences have the power to restore, center, and ground us. My mission is to make that access possible. For the caregivers who give endlessly, and for those who deserve an accessible way to explore, relax, and enjoy the day — Waves of Freedom exists for you.
